Producer - TEchnical Audio engineer - Composer
Matty is a Sydney based producer, composer, technical audio engineer, and sound designer. Matty holds a bachelors degree of music with a major in audio from the Australian Institute of music and has recently worked with Opera Australia as their Technical Audio Supervisor, and Sydney Dance company as a senior audio technician. Matty also works as a freelance studio engineer, working with a diverse range of clients.
Matty is skilled in recording, sound design, composition, mixing and production for a range of applications, and formats. Matty has honed his craft as an audio engineer, both in live environments and in the studio. Technically skilled in Pro Tools, He regularly records voiceovers, ADR, music, and is just as confident in post-production and final mixing.
Matty enjoys producing for music, film and tv/radio, and feels just as comfortable in the commercial realm as the music studio. With love and appreciation to the electronic music scene, Matty enjoys working with experimental sources, sounds and collaborating with likeminded people. When he’s not writing or producing for clients he releases disco, house, and pop music under multiple aliases.
In the live sound sphere Matty currently works with orchestral and theatre performances, recently being apart of OA’s performances of AIDA, Ernani in Melbourne in Sydney throughout 2021. After a pause of live performances due to Covid-19, Matty has brought performances back to the stage in 2022 at the Opera house, completing Opera Australia’s summer season with La Boheme, Otello, Turandot, La Juive, The Marriage of Figaro and Stuarda in concert.
